The Science

Professor Microbe works by eliminating only the harmful germs on surfaces without destroying the healthful, beneficial bacteria that provide nutrients and support the immune system. These microbes prevent bacteria from growing back for more than 24 hours keeping your environment truly clean and sparkling longer than traditional chemical cleaners and disinfectants.

How It Works

To understand how any cleaning product works, it is important to know that “dirt” is layers of films made up of grease, oils, fats, bacteria, germs and fatty acids. These films are bonded to each other and to the surface by amino acids and fatty acids. Conventional chemical cleaners remove only the top layers of the film with the base layers left to collect “bad germs” within minutes - which is why your home and office is never really clean or safe! Professor Microbe attacks and eliminates the amino and fatty acids and continues working and protecting you and your family from the harmful bacteria for more than 24 hours.

The Good Germ - Bad Germ Standoff

It is important to remember that there are “good” germs and “bad” germs, and research has shown less than .01% are harmful. Moreover, many germs are directly or indirectly essential to our well-being and survival because they provide nutrients that fine tune our immune system, balance our metabolism, and ward off mood disorders, to name a few. Why should we use the toxic chemical cleaners sold today that claim to kill 99.9% of the germs we need, rather than the .01% we do not? Count on Professor Microbe to know which corner to be in!

Methods of Cleaning through the Years: Victorian, Bleach, Disinfectant, Green, Chemical-free

What’s in your “green” cleaner?

Many so-called “green” or “natural” cleaners contain ingredients that are anything but green or natural. Take a look at the back of the common household cleaners in your cleaning cabinet or on the store shelves. If you see any of these, you may want to think twice about using them in your home, around your family or near your pets.

  • BENZISOTHIAZOLINONE - Human immune system toxicant and it acts as a antimicrobial killing off beneficial microorganisms.

  • BUTYL CELLOSOLVE - Damages bone marrow, the nerves system, and kidneys and liver.

  • 2-BUTEXYETHANOL - Can be inhaled or absorbed through the skin and can cause blood disorders as well as kidney and liver damage. It may also cause reproduction damage over long exposure.

  • FORMALDEHYDE - Found in spray and wick household deodorizers. It is a respiratory irritant and carcinogen.

  • CHLORINE PHENOLS - Commonly used in toilet bowl cleaners. It is toxic to the respiratory and circular systems and dangerous to the environment when flushed into our water supply.

  • TRICLOSAN - It affects the body’s hormone system.

  • TETACHLOROETHYLENE - Accumulates in body fat and remains in the body for a long period of time increasing the risk of breast cancer.

  • PFOA - Used in stain guards, upholstery and carpet cleaning. Long exposure has been associated with increased incidents of breast cancer.

  • ALKYLPENOIS - Chemical used in the production of detergents and cleaning products that are known endocrine disrupters.

  • AROMATIC AMINES - These compounds have direct effects on cell division that may enhance the development of tumors.

  • Sodium Hypochlorite - breathing fumes may cause poisoning, especially if product is mixed with ammonia, toilet bowl cleaners, rust removers or other acids.
